[Powers] Sebastian has a combination of weak telekinesis and strong mimicking and ventriloquist skills that combine to create a haunted effect. First off, Bastian can "record" things he's heard before and get objects to repeat the noises. It's a matter of recreating the sound waves and choosing the spot they come from, making objects or empty spaces appear to talk. It's all dependant on his memory, which while rather good, leaves room for mistakes. Between subconsciously trying to recreate the waves and remember what he wants said, phrases can come out as gibberish and voices are eerie and inhuman, music sounds broken and old, and in general everything sounds not-quite-right and, well, creepy. He can assign objects the potential to repeat these noises and choose when they go off, and to a small extent can have them go off at repeated intervals when he's not present (these recordings will get less and less accurate as time goes on until it's just an otherworldly sort of wailing).

Hand in hand with this, Sebastian has minor telekinesis that he is almost entirely not in control of. When he causes objects to make noise they have a tendency to shake and possibly fall over. Consciously he can make smaller objects slide across surfaces and larger ones shake. The most he can possibly move is about ten pounds, and everything else will just tremble. When he's very excited, angry, upset or even happy, things in his general vicinity tend to shake and move. With enough pressure objects have been known to slam into walls, but he seems unable to actually make things fly (much to his dismay). Sebastian's favorite thing to do is use all of his abilities to make places appear haunted. He seems to have no qualms about doing this and his (un)healthy sense of pride prevents him from hiding his abilities.

[Personality] Sebastian is hard not to notice despite being shorter than a great number of male and female classmates at 5'3". He's very outgoing, playful and friendly, making up for his stature by making sure that he has introduced himself to as many people as possible. Despite this, Sebastian is undeniably overbearing and he does not know when to stop the joking. He aggressively pursues just about everything from friendships to grades, and people who don't respond well to his fiery charisma are pursued with even more fervor. In the end, if that fails he resorts to inflicting his moodiness on them.

He's a very energetic individual and rarely complains of being tired. He's a dedicated and hard worker, but also a frenetic one. He always must be working or thinking or he'll grow uninterested and restless. He often finds himself bored in a lot of classes, and to make up for his boredom he does all of his work with an incredible amount of effort and time put into it and his studies. If it weren't for his tendency to mouth off and provoke trouble he would be an ideal student. Sebastian always says what he thinks, which can be a good and a bad thing. It means he is very honest about his feelings, and if something is bothering him he will voice this. But he hasn't learned to hold his tongue around certain people. These people being students with violent tempers, friends whose feelings he might hurt, and teachers who don't appreciate his running commentary on their lesson plan.

While Sebastian is known for being friendly, he's also known for being easy to rile up. He's very, very moody, and when anything irritates him he becomes very defensive and snippish to the point of picking fights. While it's easy to get him started like this, it's quite the challenge to make him stop. The only cure seems to be nodding and putting up with everything he says, most of those things being rather inflammatory or, again, defensive. In this mind-set he's likely to see anything as an attack. Of course, he also gets into these moods when he thinks something or someone dear to him is being attacked, even if that's not true. Sebastian will blindly defend himself, friends and interests.

Eventually he'll lose interest in the fight and after that he'll cool down and return to his normal sunny behavior and act as if nothing happened. Sebastian seems to have difficulty holding grudges, or holding onto any emotion for a long period of time. He forgets he was angry or sad and just gets over it, but he also forgets he was infatuated with someone. His crushes tend to be powerful and crippling for him, but they'll abruptly end after a month or two at the most. Though it's not hard to tell he's interested, as he blushes easily and stammers a great deal in the girl's presence.

[History] The first ten years of Sebastian's live were very plain and calm. Born to the very wealthy Lawrence and Elaine Channing, both doctors, Sebastian had nothing material to want for as an only child. His parents, however, were always very busy. They hadn't been entirely keen on having a child and although they were good doctors, many described them as acting like teens in love. They were totally concentrated on one another and very much in love. Bastian as a small child felt neglected.

When Sebastian was about ten years old, the "haunting" started. Strange, eerie noises would manifest without warning, doors would open, and objects would shake and slide. Bastian was oddly not upset by these things and referenced it as the work of a ghost that was following him. Unfortunately for Sebastian's parents, there was no ghost but rather a premature development of their son's mutation. At this point in time Bastian was totally convinced his powers, mostly subconscious, were the work of a ghost who wanted his parents' attention as much as he did.

As soon as the cry for attention started working at home, it began to work at school. Teachers who had been frustrated with his demanding, mouth-offish attitude found that their classrooms, too, were oddly haunted. Sebastian was happy as he got the attention of those he cared about and the revenge of those who had harassed him. As Sebastian began to discover it was him making the noises and movements, he started to use it on other students who had bullied him for his small frame. He had little idea of what it was exactly, but figured you don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

About the same time Sebastian found out it was him, his parents realized the same thing. They had heard of mutants and were even further terrified of their son. However, to protect their life and child they withdrew him from his current school and moved from Nevada to Maine, and then again to Utah and Indiana for the same reasons. In every location Sebastian would inevitably use his powers, his lack of restraint making him the victim of more than a couple anti-mutant incidents that mostly just sent him home with hefty bruises before he could scare away his attackers.

Wherever they went the patterns of Bastian abusing his powers continued until the family was approached by Xavier's Institute. The Channings were more than happy to have Sebastian taken off their hands. They told the people there that they wanted Sebastian sent back to them fixed. All they want is for them to make this stop. Sebastian for his part was hurt his parents would send him away so quickly and has only adjusted to Xavier's very reluctantly. His habits of using his powers without restraint have shown no signs of stopping.

[Additional information] Sebastian's aggressiveness wins over any common sense he might have and as a result he was almost regularly in fights in his old school. Thankfully he's very resilient when it comes to being picked on or even beaten up and after the fact he's good at picking up his wounded pride and moving on. He's physically weak, however, and has not won more than a couple of his numerous fights to date. He looks at the mutant struggle in the same light, dealing with it and if anything, aggressively attacking those who start rubbing him the wrong way about it.

Bastian, as might have been guessed, has attention issues. He'll do anything to keep it when given and he's very willing to please when it comes down to it. The best way to get one's way with him is to ignore him until he preforms the desired deed. Currently Sebastian has not kept in contact with his parents. They will occasionally send a letter, email, or attempted phone call though if their son responds it's very brief. He's still upset with what happened and feels like they passed him off on Xavier's because he was too difficult to handle – unfortunately true.

Sebastian is resentful of people with things he doesn't have (strength, popularity, supportive families), and can be quite the bully about it. When in one of his more direct, calm moods, Sebastian can be very good with animals. He's not easily intimidated by them or anyone else and could learn to be a commanding figure if he calmed down on other issues. He's sensitive to plant allergens in the air, but rather than coughing and sneezing, his eyes tend to water and itch.

Lastly, Sebastian collects knowledge of ghost stories. If given a place he can recite a story about it and it's ghost and how it manifests (even if he's making it up on the spot). He's an excellent, animated story teller and often accentuates his tales with a couple well placed special effects courtesy of his mutation.
